Michael JJ Tilbury is an interdisciplinary artist, poet, and author whose work operates at the sharp intersection of technology, biology, and human vulnerability. A veteran of the United States Air Force with six years of service in tactical intelligence, including a deployment to Afghanistan, Tilbury holds undergraduate degrees in Painting and Pure Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and an MFA in Studio Art from the Maine College of Art and Design. His creative writing has been shortlisted for The Letter Review’s book competition, and his poetry is published or forthcoming in speculative venues such as Star*Line. He will continue his literary trajectory in the MFA Program in Creative Writing at the University of Massachusetts Boston in the fall of 2026.
