The Daily Release

By: Michelle Cicillini

I store my bellyaches

alongside my hopes

my heavy glass marbles

in a silken pinky purse

readied for a journey

of rapid remedies

but the last page

isn’t always from

the last chapter

so it’s best to empty your knapsack

before the weight ruins the wait
