A stone wall

so old it felt

soft around

the garden.

You told me

about the

chapter of her,

water, yes, like you were

giving me

my truth.

But when

we kissed, took

off our

clothes, and

I asked him

if his body

had stories, he said no.

 

 

 

 

Sara Sutter is a a poet, writer, and professor based in Portland, Oregon. Their chapbooks include O to Be a Dragon (Finishing Line Press 2016) and Sirenomelia (Poor Claudia 2013). Their prose appears in magazines like Propeller and Nailed. In Portland, they help to curate poetry readings, offer writing workshops, and teach at Concordia University.
